Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I want to add to my quiet space project with the beanbag chairs. The students would enjoy this beautiful rug. They could take their shoes off and sit in the quiet space to reflect and feel better before returning to library class. Our school is in transition with a two year plan to remake the old building. We are housed in an old high school, and the library is somewhat too bit for the students to navigate. Sometimes we are frustrated and need a place to wind down and think for a minute.

My goal for this project is to create a smaller, more focused place in our library for students to take a break during library class.

My students come from small homes and sometimes they lack the stability to concentrate. As the school librarian, I want to create a space where students can spend time alone when the library is too big, and maybe we just need a moment to reflect and breathe.
