My Students

I am an Occupational Therapist currently working in a high needs area of New York City in the public school system. My students are an exceptional group and I am dedicated to making sure they have every possible advantage when trying to reach their learning potential. My students range in diagnoses from learning disabled, ADHD, emotionally disturbed and sensory processing difficulties.

I have some of the hardest working students in New York City.

Given their limitations, is if often difficult for my students to feel successful during the school day despite their enormous desire to do so.

My Project

As an Occupational Therapist, it is my responsibility to identify student's struggles and provide resources necessary to increase their potential in the academic environment. My students would greatly benefit from the implementation tennis balls placed on the bottom of their chair legs to cut down on chair noise when students are moving their seats around.

Many of my students have auditory sensitivities to noises and this not only effects their ability to learn, but to remain focused in the classroom.

Your donation to this project will not only grant my students the opportunity to be more focused and successful with their schoolwork, but will also improve their self-esteem as well. Thank you in advance for your consideration to help my very special students!!
