Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are very curious learners in this ever-growing world of technology we live in. Our school is a Title 1 school meaning our school population has high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families. I teach three sections of disciplinary literacy. These students learn about social studies and science through research, reading, and writing. They come in every day excited about new topics and eager to dive into learning. Majority of our students are Hispanic including English language learners and students with disabilities. Regardless of ability, all students are hard workers wanting to achieve their dreams.

My Project

Technology is increasingly important in school, career, and in life. With smartphones and tablets being used for everyday use, it is important that students learn skills to use technology effectively and properly. Unfortunately, this school is scarce of tech and we only have 3 chrome books to share between a whole class.

I would like to provide these students with the same opportunities more fortunate schools have.

We will use these iPads to conduct intense research on various topics of social studies and science. The students also will use them to research their own interests in Project Based Learning activities. Students will be able to present their findings and ideas using the multimedia apps we will soon have access to such as videos, blogs, wikis, podcasts, etc.

Please help fund this project and help these students take full advantage of the digital world and provide them with the resources they need to enhance their learning.
