Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Having a classroom with books in Spanish will greatly benefit Spanish-speaking students by fostering a deeper connection to their language and culture while improving literacy skills. Having access to books in their native language helps students build confidence in reading, encouraging stronger comprehension and vocabulary development. This foundation in Spanish literacy also supports learning English, as students can transfer reading skills between languages.

Culturally relevant books empower students to see themselves reflected in the material, creating a more inclusive learning environment and enhancing their engagement and motivation to succeed academically.

Equity Focus
