My Students

Have you ever watched the Magic School Bus? The most memorable character from the show was the teacher, Ms. Valerie Frizzle. She was so fun and eccentric opening up a new realm beyond the textbook. Going into my first year of teaching, I am aspiring to be exactly who I needed while I was in high school. My 156 students display potential and the will to want to learn and expand their minds as long as I can keep their attention. I've learned that these kids understand things so much better when it is put right in front of them and grabbing their attention. Most students will tell you science is probably their least favorite subject. I am here to groom them to question everything and develop a love for science. The momentum that we have going is pushing them into that very direction ,I just have to keep it going. While they are in high school they can be very argumentative, and I don't shut it out, I like to use it as fuel. My kids are determined, creative and consistent. I have lots planned for them.

My Project

This camera will help me to teach students of different levels. In class, students have always learned at different speeds but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a gap in learning is more present and not always am I allotted the time to go back in the event that I moving to fast to meet deadlines. With this camera, I would be able to record all lessons putting the students in control where they can pause/ rewind as much as they need to. This will also help my pupils who for various reasons aren't present because each day I see more and more absences. This will give them the opportunity to be on track without them returning to school trying to play catch up.

Also, I like for my students to be as hands-on as possible.

Just to name a few projects we have completed thus far: we've built cars out of recycled material, built cities that could withstand rain, wind and flooding and built volcanos. I would love for them to keep and cherish these memories. Using this camera, I would be able to take pictures and record their presentations, creating moments to last a life time.
