Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students I service live in the Bronx. Currently, I will be working with third grade students. The population of the children in my class are English Language Learners, students with disabilities and general education students.

This academic year my goal is to create a supportive learning environment as we return to in-person learning.

My Project

The materials I am requesting will allow me to provide my students with individual classroom supplies. The pencil case will included a set of sharpened pencils, an eraser and a set of crayons. I will label each pencil case with the child's name and they will be able to store their materials in their desk.

When I returned to school after the school closure, I incorporated the use of classroom supplies that I provided and requested that parents supply at home supplies for homework.

I found that the students took care of the materials and used up less supplies because they were not leaving or losing materials at home. It also promotes a sanitary environment because students are not sharing supplies and ensure that they are always prepared.
