My Students

My K-5 reading intervention students are active and curious; students who learn best through hands-on activities, active learning, up-to-date books, technology, and games. The diversity found among my students is simply a mirror of the community in which they live. My school has 98.6% receiving free or reduced-rate lunch.

My classroom is unique!

I serve all students in grades K-5 who are struggling readers, as well as students that need a boost of confidence at benchmark level. All of my students are eager and willing to work their hardest to gain more reading power! They are excited to participate in the reading activities my staff and I have ready for them.

My Project

The students that I serve will greatly benefit from enriched cultural, social, and emotional awareness through the use of beautifully written - quality books. These books will provide the bases for academic study through research, reading and study of the world in which we all live and grow.

Ultimately, these materials will promote diversity, and prepare young learners to be better citizens, locally, and globally!

Most importantly, early experiences in diversity, current events, and "world-awareness" help young children learn to respect others, and celebrate the differences in people, and set them on the path to be caring adults. As students takes home a completed book project, they will most certainly be excited to share their book project with their families!

This study of quality books will greatly help lessen the impacts of Covid-19. Even when a pandemic strikes, books will always be there. Consequently my goal is to promote a love of books.
