My Project

I teach ELA at the most wonderful school ever. My students are respectful, responsible, accountable, and genuinely love to come to school and learn. I teach five classes a day filled with a variety of levels including inclusion and non-English speaking students. I recently added a puzzle area to my classroom after being inspired by our school librarian. This has been an amazing addition to our class and students love to work these puzzles with their peers.

We need a designated puzzle table for students to work at so that more students can join in the fun and so that our pieces don't wind up on the floor.

We live in a world where students love instant gratification and struggle when things get hard. Working jigsaw puzzles has helped my students learn to be patient, work together, problem solve, and has also given them a chance to take a brain break before school, during class changes, or when finished with their classwork.

Our puzzles are currently being worked on a super old table that barely has room for a 500 piece puzzle and has no lips around it to prevent pieces from falling off. Having a designated table designed for puzzles will allow more students to work on puzzles as well as make it easier to store when not in use. The table I am requesting is also on wheels meaning we can move it to different places in the room. My project is also requesting new puzzles for my students to work.
