This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My special needs students have a passion for completing puzzles that is unwavering! They seek out and complete any puzzle that comes into our classroom. It's amazing to see how using puzzles can help motivate my students to work on academic tasks.

My goals are to provide a variety of puzzles for my special needs students.

The puzzles will be used to work and strengthen their visual spatial and fine motor skills, as well as provide motivation for my students to complete academic tasks.

My students are special because they are Autistic and have amazing abilities in some areas, but struggle in other areas. Puzzles are a great way for us to tap into their abilities to focus, attend to a task and complete a task (independently or with assistance). Puzzles work so well because they are visual, concrete and can be repeatedly.
