My Project

On behalf of the Occupational and Physical Therapy department, it is my pleasure to introduce a spectacular group of special education students. We hope to foster and develop their abilities by advocating for additional resources that will further enhance their learning!

As occupational and physical therapists, we love to challenge our students and set high expectations for their growth.

Each of our students is uniquely smart, capable, and determined. Our caseloads consist of students who have a wide range of developmental, sensory, physical, and academic needs. These items will help us to build their confidence and promote functional independence. Our students range in age from 4-11 years old and come from diverse backgrounds within our Staten Island community.

We are requesting items to help enhance our therapy room to allow our students to achieve success. We will use the bean bag chair and wobble stool to offer our students with varying sensory needs options for alternative seating. Printer ink will help us to print worksheets and other materials for our students to use in therapy sessions. We will use some of the materials to facilitate our students' fine motor skills. Other items will be used to improve gross motor skills, such as balance and strength so that we can ensure our students can safely navigate the school environment and participate in activities with their peers.

We look forward to using these tools to help our students achieve their goals!
