Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a group of fun loving kids who want to learn! My school is located in the heart of Washington Heights. Many of my students are English Language Learners and have limited exposure to English at home so as their teacher it is my responsibility to expose them to as much as possible. My school has limited resources and we work hard to provide as much for our students as possible.

This is what my school is all about. We try to give our students all of the knowledge we can, however we can, so that they are able to continue and grow into amazing young people who will change the world.

My Project

The one inch binders and tabbed dividers will allow my students to display their best math and literacy work. The students take pride in their work and when it is placed in a folder, it devalues their work. However, when their work is placed in a binder that is carefully divided and displayed for anyone to look at they take great pride in it.

The students in my class work hard on their math as well as literacy work and many times do not feel that what they are doing is important.

By giving them the opportunity to display their work I am able to show them that their work is important and what they do matters!
