My Students

We are an elementary school located in Richmond, Virginia. Low income families make up 97% of our population. Students are below the state averages in testing.

My students come from struggling households with primarily one parent or grandparent as the caregiver.

Many students not only struggle in the community, but also in the classroom. My students need many resources and hands on activities to give them the background knowledge to be able to learn on grade level.

My Project

Headphones are an essential tool needed to access online resources when using classroom laptops. Using headphones with online resources helps students to be focused on their learning experience.

Students love computers and stay engaged when they have a good pair of headphones to enhance the audio portion of a learning game or other online resource.

Their learning experiences will be greatly improved if they can access both video and audio.

For an added bonus, headphones will cut down on noise of twenty computers on at the same time in the classroom. This will improve the overall environment of the classroom and show the students their education is important.
