My Project

I am a PreK teacher who lost my supplies in storage during the Houston storms. I am scheduled to teach in the Fall and need materials to help engage my students. I would love for them to love school. The pandemic has caught the attention of our students and gotten them off task. My goal is to refocus the students on learning and dreaming. I want the students to be encouraged and know that because we are facing challenges does not mean they can't conquer and achieve. I plan to use the art materials such as the painters as a picture-making tool. They will also be used as a way to quickly assess the identification of letters/sounds/or sight words. (Bingo format). The water bubbles letters and numbers would be utilized in small group instruction and later rotated into a workstation. The students will like the sensory feel. It is fun, engaging, and will jumpstart a lot of conversation. At the same time, the students can once again feel a sense of fun and enjoyment while learning the necessary skills. I will use the magnetic letters and mats for drills where the students will practice putting the alphabet in order quickly and build words in CVC format. Many of the activities that I have selected are tools that can be adjusted to any level. I can add something or take it away to make it the fit for any student. I know the students will greatly benefit from the items selected.
