My Project

The current state of education is preparing children to ingest information and take tests. There is very little reading for pleasure happening in the classroom. Everything the students read is a means to an end. I'm hoping the change this for my students.

Everyone can remember a book so go you couldn't put it down.

Maybe a teacher read a book aloud chapter by chapter. Maybe you remember reading at bedtime. My students deserve good memories with books, as well.

Our school has adopted a new calendar where we return to school 20 days early. This will allow students time to review important skills and do a novel study. I have chosen Charlotte's Web becuase of the important lessons it teaches about friendship and resilience.
