This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a Special Education, public school teacher, teaching in a very low economic area. My goal is to get all of my students on grade level while developing a love for learning! To aid in this process, I am requesting materials that will support their learning. For example, I am requesting visual aids.

My students are Students with Disabilities.

They are students who often come from unstable home environments, where academics and a desire for an education takes the back seat. As their teacher, I strive to develop a love of learning and social skills that will open doors to success in life.

My Project

My students need a variety of visual aids, such as name tags, posters, schedule cards, and weather charts. My students need pencils, paper, markers, pens, crayons, and bins to store their projects in. The materials I have requested will directly help the learning taking place within my classroom. My students need visual supports to aid in their academics. Basic supplies are also needed in the day-to-day functioning of a classroom. Teaching children who reside in rather unstable situations, a bright, welcoming and cheerful classroom in turn helps their academics.

The materials being requested will help my students learn.

The shiny, bright new materials will catch their eyes and intrigue them. These materials will help our classroom function smoothly and help create a welcoming, stable environment.
