Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are highly engaged and innovative young adults. They come from low socio-economical homes. Our school is a Title 1 school, which means that the majority of our school is on free or reduced lunch. That impacts my students greatly. I know that while they have the motivation, desire, determination, and skill to achieve greatness; many of them cannot afford the necessary materials to achieve their goals.
While our school is a Title 1 school, it has been able to maintain an A school status for years.
Our students are capable of great things. We, as teachers do all that we can to ensure the excellence of our students and to secure their future. I ask for assistance in getting my wonderful students there.
My Project
Using the computer and ink, my psychology students can bring psychology class into the 21st century. They will be able to utilize online computer programs to create innovative activities and presentations for class. The post-its, pens, and file folders can be used to create working portfolios for the students to gain perspective in their educational track in Psychology. The students will have a working portfolio of information to have on hand to take with them to college.
With these items, my classes will be able to create and print out infographic projects; record, edit, and post their videos to YouTube; and become more tech savvy in the classroom.
With the remaining items my students can use them to put together their creative hands on activities in class. My students are very artistic and love to use that creativity to bring their work to life.
