My Project

The future of our environment and communities lies within the knowledge and voice of the people in it. Our project aims to create responsible citizens who are invested in their own community as well as raising awareness about others around the world. Water is a valuable resource for everyone around the world, but unfortunately not everyone has the same access to clean water. Students will investigate how water is delivered to our city, how it is filtered and treated and how we monitor and regulate the clean water standards. Students will look at maps, talk to experts and do their own research to discover how clean and safe their own drinking water is.

Students will also learn how to take action to correct problems with our water supply.

This includes letter writing, water monitoring, and creating public awareness through making PSAs and posters. It is so important for students to understand that they have a voice in their community and to see how their actions can promote change.
