My Students

My students attend a public neighborhood school on the south side of Chicago. I teach a wide demographic of young adults ranging from freshmen to juniors in high school. Next year, I will also be serving seniors. I have about 150 students divided up between English II: American Literature and AP Capstone Seminar and Research. My students are in desperate need of more resources and some individual feedback. Since this is a public school, they often fall victim to budget cuts, and they don't deserve to have their educational path rerouted as a result of poor funding; they deserve more. I want to supply these wonderful scholars with technology to further enhance their researching, writing, collaborating, and presentation skills. I truly believe that many of these students are bound to do amazing things that will change America in a meaningful, positive way.

These students are honestly the kindest, most genuine people I have ever had the pleasure of teaching.

They are respectful individuals, and they will use your donations to improve their academic skills in preparation for higher education and beyond.

My Project

As an English and Research instructor, I regularly give my students feedback through conferences at my desk; as of right now, the conference desk is too small and worn down for students to feel welcome. I am requesting a new desk for my classroom; on a daily basis, students meet at the teacher desk to discuss their research projects and academic papers. The current desk is composed of old, splintered wood.

This new desk will allow for meaningful conferences with space for students to bring laptops and materials without feeling crammed or rushed - they also won't leave with splinters.
