My Students

The first grade students are creative, hilarious and endearingly hopeful children who, as English as a Second Language learners, do not hear the English language beyond our school. This upcoming year, our grade will consists of students with special needs, English as a Second Language, ASD and general education. These students are hardworking and miss being in school with their teachers and friends. In order to truly help them and their families during this pandemic, I want to provide them with basic school supplies. Our students are eager and curious children who enjoy learning. We are a Title I school, which means that our children, nearly all of my learners, are currently living below the poverty line. With these donations, you are providing an underprivileged population of NYC students to school supplies which will help prepare them for the upcoming school year.

My Project

I am requesting basic classroom essentials such as pens, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, pencil pouches, scissors and glue to help the 1st grade's upcoming students be prepared to learn on the first day of school in September. Since all of the students and their families are dealing with financial hardship due to COVID-19, it will be really difficult for them to come prepared with the necessary classroom supplies this fall. Therefore, I would like to request these basic essentials so my students won't have to worry on the first day of school and can just focus on learning in this difficult time that we're living in.

Having basic classroom supplies on the first day of school will make a huge difference to my students and their families affected by the pandemic.

These classroom basics will provide a huge boost for my students to start off the year.
