Help Mrs. Luikart

I teach 9th grade physical science and environment earth science. Our school is located in a high-need area and my classes contain several special education students.

The major obstacle that I am facing is that I do not have the supplies needed for my classroom. I have to borrow safety glasses from other teachers and this can be come very overwhelming. I do a lab almost everyday and this means a lot of time spent borrowing other teachers items that they may need in their own classroom.

I need safety glasses and a sterilizing cabinet so that my students will be able to perform labs anytime without having to coordinate with other teachers to borrow the need supplies.

Many of my students are not really interested in science. However, since I have started adding a lab everyday, they are getting more excited. They are up and moving around in the classroom and are doing more hands-on-activities. Most of them are really interested when they walk into class to find out what type of fun lab we will be doing. It is crucial that my students are able to have safety glasses and to get them into the lab as much as possible. Many of the science classes they will be taking in college will contain a large number of labs. The more I expose them to the lab, the more comfortable they will be with it.
