Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students have come together in each production process, and with our One Act Play competition they have been able to prepare a story that speaks to the Latinx culture. Luchadora! by: Alvaro Saar Rios is a beautiful story of female empowerment, as a grandmother tells her granddaughter about her experiences as a young girl discovering her father was a luchador(from having been a migrant worker) and training to take his place as she and her friends also navigated the effects of the Vietnam war.

The props and costume pieces we are asking for are some that we need for the show, and would be a huge help to our production!

The lucha libre masks and lucha libre banner will be used within the mask maker's scenes, the fake flowers will be used within the family's flower stand scenes, and the thermos will be used throughout the play as the container for the miracle cactus soup.
