My Project

Theatre is a class where students can be themselves. It is a place for students to experience what it means to be human: to have a story, to be a part of a story, to tell a story. I am writing to request funding to acquire essential supplies for Theatre students who enjoy creating meaningful elements that enhance our stories. Many of our productions require various food props to effectively convey the scenes and enhance character interactions.

The project aim is to enhance the visual storytelling of our performance by creating realistic food props that will captivate our audience and enrich the theatrical experience.

By using air-dry clay and paint, our students will engage in a hands-on creative process that fosters collaboration, artistic expression, and practical skills.

Supplies Needed:

Air-Dry Clay:

White air-dry clay

Sculpting tools (rolling pins, sculpting knives, etc.)

Paints:

Acrylic paints (various colors)

Paintbrushes (We already have brushes.)

Additional Supplies:

Protective sheets (wax paper/plastic)

Finishing Supplies:

Clear sealant

This project will provide students with the opportunity to:

- Develop their artistic skills and creativity.

- Collaborate with peers and learn about team dynamics in theatre production.

- Gain hands-on experience in prop-making, enhancing their understanding of stagecraft.

I believe that this initiative will significantly contribute to the success of our theatre productions and provide invaluable learning experiences for our students.
