Help me give my students art supplies for SEL breaks and materials to create pronoun pins for an inclusive school community.

My Students
My students are inspirations: highly-motivated, creative, and hilarious. As a social studies teacher, my goal is to promote a culture of curiosity and civic engagement, where my students can approach social and historical contexts as problem-solvers and agents of inquiry and change. Ambitious as these goals may seem, they have developed over time because my students have either implicitly or explicitly commanded such high expectations.
As my wonderful colleagues do everything within their power to help our students be prepared for the competitive global market place, we are all working with limited resources.
In a state where almost 70% of public education funding is generated from local taxes, my students fundamentally are denied the equity and access that many credentialed and respected organizations espouse. Considering what they have accomplished given these uphill battles, think about what they can do on a level playing field.
My Project
With acrylic paints for a classroom mural and button makers for pronoun pins, the supplies for this project are all intended to create a student-centered space.
Students need a classroom environment where they can be creative, curious, and brave.
By providing my students with paints to complete a mural full of images of characters that unite the them through their common interests you can help create a warm and inviting environment. The button makers and paper will allow us to continue making pronoun pins so we can create an inclusive and respectful community.
