My Project

I am requesting items that will contribute to the positive mental health of my students. I am a special education teacher, and the sensory experience of a classroom can have a significant impact on mental health and learning. The sensory items that I included in this project include lighting, ear plugs, essential oil diffusers, fidgets, and an area rug. Additionally, I have included activities, such as a mandala coloring book, that have been shown to help students regulate their emotions. Additionally and more importantly, all of these items will teach my students ways to self-regulate independently, an important skill for finding success in the real world.
