This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are between the ages of 4 and 5 years of age. They are just starting their school experience and they all have a great love of learning. Many began the school year knowing zero letters while others know a few. This age requires small group instruction, creative play, visuals, and manipulatives to provide different learning modalities as well as differentiated instruction for our young learners. I am excited to be teaching such a diverse, wonderful group of children!

My Project

We are requesting a Floor Puppet Theater and puppets to express themselves in different ways while using their imagination. Puppets are a wonderful tool to use in the preschool classroom for all ages. Using puppets for preschool learning activities helps to promote social and emotional development in children. Spending time on puppet play encourages children to express themselves in different ways while using their imagination and discovering important skills.

Puppets also foster social interaction, communication, role playing, imagination, story telling, listening, music and much more.

Puppets promote leadership, performance, and sometimes, even the courage to stand in front of their peers. Preschoolers love puppets and you can use puppets to introduce many wonderful concepts and keep the children having fun in the process.
