My Students

Technology is scarce in my school, as well as copy paper. When the students can access the reading materials projected on the Smart Board, reading becomes more interactive and more attractive to my non-readers. A typical day includes reading, taking notes, and sometimes video clips.

I work in a Title I school that lacks the technology to support learning.

My students are obsessed with technology and as more and more technology disappears in the school, more and more attention from the students does as well. My students are all below level in reading and in math. In my history class, I do my best to use as many readings, essays, or graphs as possible. My students struggle to follow along when there is not a visual on the board.

My Project

The projector will allow students of all reading levels to participate in a reading activity. The students who can read will be able to see the reading from the back of the room and those who struggle with reading will be able to follow along and highlight the important parts on the Smart Board. My students will also be able to present their projects through the projector at the end of the year.

Donations will improve my classroom in many ways.

My students are socioeconomically low and attach to activities. They become heartbroken when those activities are taken from them. I had a working projector last year and the students thrived. This year my projector has died and my students struggle to keep up. I want to see my scores improve on my tests and the best way is for all students to be able to access the curriculum by using a working projector in class.
