Help Ms. Ofstie

I am a high school English Language Development at a high-need public high school in Southern California. My students are a mix of 9th-12th grade, and they are all English language learners. They come from many different countries such as China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Burma, Mexico, Guatemala, and El Salvador. They are level 2 students, which means they are at the high beginner/ low intermediate English level. They are truly the nicest students in the world, and are very eager to learn English.

Because of generous donations through DonorsChoose, we will soon be receiving an LCD projector that will hook up to my laptop. I am super excited about this because we will finally be able to watch streaming media, look at websites, and do word processing together on the screen as a class. However, in order for the projector to be really useful, we also need some accessories to go along with it.

We need a projector cart, computer speakers, and a wireless internet access point in order to get the most out of our projector. The cart will enable me to position the projector in the room without using a student's desk, and even has a convenient shelf for my laptop to go on. The speakers will plug into the computer, and will allow us to enjoy streaming media together as a class without straining to hear the sound. The wireless internet access point will enable me to connect my laptop (as well as students' laptops) to the internet so that we can look at websites together.

These resources will help me better prepare my students for college by being able to do PowerPoint presentations, teach them internet research skills, look at websites, view streaming media, and learn word publishing skills together as a class. All of those wonderful things are not possible for me now, but these three projector accessories will really help us use the projector to its full potential. Thank you so much!
