My Students
My students attend a public neighborhood school on the south side of Chicago. I teach a wide demographic of young adults ranging from freshmen to juniors in high school. Next year, I will also be serving seniors. I have about 150 students divided up between English II: American Literature and AP Capstone Seminar and Research. My students are in desperate need of more resources and some individual feedback. Since this is a public school, they often fall victim to budget cuts, and they don't deserve to have their educational path rerouted as a result of poor funding; they deserve more. I want to supply these wonderful scholars with technology to further enhance their researching, writing, collaborating, and presentation skills. I truly believe that many of these students are bound to do amazing things that will change America in a meaningful, positive way.
These students are honestly the kindest, most genuine people I have ever had the pleasure of teaching.

My Project
My students are enrolled in the AP Capstone program, which is a two year commitment that requires a total of 3 presentations ranging from 6-20 minutes each. In order to be successful in their presentations and receive a passing AP score, students need plenty of practice. When the scholars practice their presentations, I tape them so that they can see their presenting skills as well as the accompanying slides they created for visual support. The projector that has been provided by the school does not have a clear enough image for my students to see their slides, let alone to be seen on the tape. This projector will assist my students in getting meaningful feedback as well as “protecting” their presentions to the next level. In addition to more professional presentations, my English students will also be getting a better view at the lessons I create for them.
