My Students

Students learn a lot from each other! Picture a teacher walking around her room with an iPad, placing it over a student's solution to a math problem, and having that solution projected to the rest of the class as they are working on their own solutions. That is the classroom I envision teaching in.

Our school is a family.

Everybody knows everyone else, and all the teachers help and support all the students that attend our school not just the ones in their own classrooms. We have families that help prep materials, work in the gardens, and volunteer in the classroom. Our school is unlike any other in our large district. We are a hidden gem and everyone that walks through our gates, students, teachers, staff, and families walks through them happily.

My Project

The resources that I am asking for will allow student work and iPad apps to be projected in the classroom. Using the Apple TV, anything on my iPad can be projected through the projector. I will be able to walk around the room and project student work, as they are working, to the entire class. Students will be able to share their work at their desks and more students will have the opportunity to share because I am the one moving around and time is saved. I will also be able to project anything that I have on the iPad to the class as I teach from various points in the classroom. It allows me freedom to teach next to students, behind students, or anywhere because the iPad becomes wireless. I will not be fixed to the computer cart. The speakers will allow anything that requires sound to be heard in the classroom as well. I will be able to take the speaker outside to practice dance routines or use music to play games for PE.

These donations will help improve my classroom because they will allow for more collaboration in the classroom.

I will be able to share student work as they are in the process of completing a math problem. I will be able to project apps from the iPad such as math games and timers. Using whiteboard apps, I can write on the iPad and it will project my writing for the group as I walk around the room. My students will be able to write on the iPad as well and share their learning.
