My Students

We are a brand new charter school in Texas. Our school is Kinder thru 7th grade and we have to share projectors within the school. As an ELA teacher, I am constantly wanting to show students writing samples, grammar lessons and cute educational videos as a way to get students excited about ELA.

I teach 4th and 5th grade ELA (English Language Arts).

We are a brand new charter school preparing our students for college and to be technologically savvy. Unfortunately, state funding will only go so far. I am asking for a projector to use in our classroom. The projector would be an enhancement tool to aid in class discussions, to watch videos and to allow students to share their presentations for the benefit of the whole class.

My Project

We do a lot of project based learning in our school. A projector would allow students the ability to share videos and presentations that they created with the whole class and get class feedback. I will be able to share educational videos and explain the different steps of the project if I had a projector. I would be able to go step by step though the directions, checking for understanding as I proceed through the lesson.

Right now we have to share the projectors at our school.

There have been several times when I had to change a lesson or skip a lesson due to the fact that I could not use the projector that day. I feel like the students would benefit from us have our own projector.
