We are looking for a chance to shine. I am a third grade teacher in a high-needs community.

Unfortunately our school is in need of many basic supplies, such as overheads for the classrooms, copy machines, desks, chairs, and books. We are also lacking in up-to-date materials to teach with, especially for social studies. The students are wonderful and eager to learn. However, due to the lack of materials they do not have the same learning opportunities as other children.

In preparing the students for their first year of state testing, they need to see many examples of what they are going to see on the test. An overhead projector would allow me to show examples from the test and help show they key vocabulary they are going to need to know in order to succeed. The students will be able to see how the test is set up and be able to learn how to identify key words in questions.

Your help will ensure that my students are getting the same opportunities to succeed as other students across the country. These are amazing kids and they deserve the best.
