Project Restock for Crafty Second Graders

Help me give my students various craft supplies to provide hands-on learning and engage students through various content area and holiday projects.

My Project

My philosophy as a teacher is students learn best by being engaged in their learning through engagement and hands-on activities. Throughout the year, my students complete projects in each content area. The highest interest projects are the landforms plate model and holiday crafts. My current group are a creative and crafty bunch who come up with their own projects and take pride in sharing it with the class. To help promote this, I choose a student to teach a craft activity once a month. As there is a limited amount of approved stores for me to supply my classroom using school funds, I often spend my own money to provide these supplies. These craft supplies will help me provide hands-on learning opportunities and engage students in content area and holiday projects.

For our holiday crafts, I have added beads, sticks, ribbon, and an art supply kit.

Plates, flour, paint materials, baking cups, and toothpicks are for the landforms model. Pipe cleaners, glitter, colored pencils, dot stickers, pompom balls, and cotton balls are for the biome diorama. A new end of the year project I would like to try is class bracelets to engage the students in an activity that brings them all together. I would also like to provide students with paper bags to hold their projects to take them home, for fragile or small projects that they may lose in their backpacks. Mixing bowls, reusable baking cups, art supply kit, and the cups will help with organizing and preparing materials for groups. Wooden clip push pins tacks would allow me to post up projects in the classroom to promote pride in their work.

This project will allow me to restock supplies I am low on and provide my students with new projects that I have always wanted to try.
