Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach Kindergarten in a Title 1 school. The classroom population is about 50% African American and 50% Hispanic. Students come from a high poverty area.

Due to many funding cuts, furniture is not a high priority. I need a place where I can store books and other reading material. I also need an area where students have easy access to different and new reading materials.

The book display tower solves two problems. It allows the children to see the cover of reading materials that will interest and invoke questions. The more questions asked, the more literacy and language is increased. I will have an area to store books that are not in use. I will be able to locate books easier in order to integrate them with the curriculum.

You can provide a love of reading. My students are bright. They need the materials necessary to increase their reading and language abilities. The students need to have the access to the materials.
