Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a physical education teacher, it can become challenging when the gym is being used for various reasons other than PE. With a rolling storage cart, it will come at ease for our scholars to have access to equipment whether indoors or outdoors. Our students enjoy playing soccer and not having goals that are easy to build or store away make it a challenge. With the help of foldable goals, this will also allow for our scholars to have access while maximizing our area and creating a safe space for our scholars.
These items will allow PE to be PE.
If you are a coach, you know how useful cones are and how effective they can be for lessons. Cones help our scholars with boundaries, for direction, and for keeping structure. The cones have holders which help students identify the challenge or exercise needed to partake in. This helps to maximize moderate to vigorous activity to increase their heart rates to ensure physical activity is taken place. The cones can also be used for agility. The foam crossbars can be placed on top of the cones for plyometric and anaerobic exercises and activities. Just as cones help to maximize activity time, it also helps to maximize learning time. The Lummi sticks help with rhythm which can help with tempo and rhythm. Lummi sticks help provide for great lessons while staying active, especially since we don't have music as an elective.
