This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hi,

My name is Amanda and this is my only 2nd year of teaching special education.

I have 3rd and 4th graders. My students would absolutely love some flexible seating besides their regular chairs. I have students with disabilities and sitting is a challenge for them so flexible seating would be amazing.

Then I would love to receive 3 tables in different colors for my center rotations which gives my students great opportunities to learn for ELA, math, fine motor skills, science, etc. All these stations give them one-on-one interaction with teachers and subjects that are engaging and fun. My students use a visual Velcro schedule with their pictures on them to learn independently and learn socialization.

Then any storage would be amazing for the classroom I bought plastic shelves and used plastic 3-drawer storage as a supplement. I would like to have a designated bookshelf and new books because our books are outdated. I would like other storage for toys, fidgets, barbies, etc. So my classroom can have proper spaces for everything so it could be better organized.

Having everything organized and labeled is critical for my students because having stuff sitting out can be a big distraction for my students.

I know I didn't have this in my cart but a clean carpet for my morning meeting/circle time activities would be amazing as well our carpet is falling apart and the rubber in the back is deteriorating so it creates dust. Which is not good. Carpet time is very important were I read books, we play musical instruments, and do morning calendar on the carpet.
