My Students
My students in Newark are creative, innovative, and all-around extremely intelligent. These children come to school each day with a hunger and a desire to learn and grow as individuals, and as contributors to their community. Despite their harsh surroundings, I find my students to be compassionate, respectful, and extremely loving individuals. Words can not express how proud I am of them and their efforts to rise above their circumstances.
What's truly unfortunate is that they are not given the much-deserved tools and supplies needed to help them excel.
The young people that come to my classes are the future entrepreneurs and innovators. My students are full of ideas and definitely have the passion and work ethic to bring those ideas to life.
My Project
These items will provide the much-needed tools and supplies for my students to practice their hands-on skills at home and in the classroom when we return. The practical part of the cosmetology program is crucial for students to develop their skills. In order for them to pass the state board exam, they must practice. That is unable to happen due to the lack of supplies and tools needed for them to practice.
With these items, students can prepare in real-time, on camera with me.
As I perform demonstrations on camera, my students will be able to follow along and duplicate what I am doing. Later, when we return to in-person instruction, these same supplies will be used in the classroom.
