Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are a city school district. In our public city school, many scholars are diverse, multiple language learners, and at-risk readers. Many scholars are also from low-income households. However, they are warm, loving, and continually searching for ways to grow and become better each day. I am honored to teach such wonderful children. My scholars are eager to learn, excel, and connect the curriculum in the school library media center. As the school librarian, I can reach every student in the school. I have been teaching for 23 years, and I take a great deal of pride in my work. I strive to make learning fun and engaging as I have been focusing on transdisciplinary learning to help scholars have authentic and powerful learning experiences.

This project will foster warmth and mental clarity and satisfy a growling stomach.

Many times, children come hungry in the library learning commons. Hunger means they are distracted and cannot learn. Kids will be able to consume these snacks, take a minute, slow dow, and break from being stressed out. Hands-on and readily available snacks are essential for healthy children. We are requesting a plastic tote, healthy snack bars, and tumbler mugs. Thank you for supporting public school children and school libraries. When you care about the future, you care about making a difference and propelling the next generation forward.
