Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Most students come from very low income families (I come from the same community and attend high school through the same district). My students are the most genuine and hard working individuals I know. They depend on higher education In order to live a better life. Most work part time jobs well being a full time student and still excel in school and extra activities.
My Project
Our class is very interactive and hands on. My goal has always been to create a positive, safe classroom community.
I aspire for our classroom to be warm, welcoming and inviting for all of my students, regardless of background or ability.
My students come from a wide range of economic backgrounds. Our current student demographic consists of 97% Hispanic students and 40% live below the poverty level. Many of our students are English Language Learners and speak different languages including English and Spanish. I also service a wide range of these academic needs.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
