Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from different socioeconomic backgrounds, cultures, and countries. They range from general education, special education and ESL students who are just learning the English language. My students have some of the most beautiful souls and often help fellow classmates that are struggling.

I believe that every single student has a purpose in my classroom and can be successful.

As their teacher, I always try to find a way to boost my students' self-esteem, practice what it means to truly love yourself, be accepting of others and find a love for science.

My Project

In our district we have a period every day call WIN. WIN stands for "What I Need." During this time teachers work in small groups with students, students are given extra time to complete assignments and make up work and most importantly they can work on supplemental projects for their classes.

Science is supposed to be a fun hands on learning experience where students can collaborate and experiment to solve problems.

Having Project Based Learning activities that allow students to think outside the box and work with their classmates will help forge relationships, reinforce the importance of teamwork and cultivate an environment where students can share ideas and have fun finding solutions to various problems.
