Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students have been calling attention to birds outside our window. They are interested in learning about their colors, where they live, where they fly to when it's cold, and more. We decided to create our Project Approach centered on their interest of birds.

For this project we are asking for a variety of materials to help students learn about birds.

First, we are asking for informative books to read in our Science Area, DIY bird feeders for our students to decorate and display on the trees outside of our classroom. This will provide them with a wonderful means of observing birds in their natural environment. We are asking for a variety of art materials such as a coloring book, owl suncatchers, paint, paint brushes and palette. We are asking for math manipulatives to help students sort using birds. Also, a set of bird figurines that we can display to help them better identify each bird.

These materials will be so helpful in starting our journey to learn all about birds. Students will be able to read the informative books to acquire knowledge as well as generate questions of things they want to learn more of. We thank you in advance for supporting our special project!
