Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is part of the New York City Public School System, and services special needs students aged 14-21. The student body is very diverse and includes young people with autism, cognitive delays, and other disabilities. All of my students reside in the Bronx, in New York City. In addition, many different cultures are represented at my school, as many of the students, or their parents, come from countries all around the world.

My students are very creative and possess a great deal of musical talent.

They love to perform, and each year the level of performance continues to improve.

My Project

Recently, generous donors from the DonorsChoose.org community gave our school high powered, professional speakers. They sound great! However, our current mixing board is quite old and in serious disrepair. This prevents us from getting the full use of our new speakers.

A new mixing board will take all of our school performances and community events to a much higher level of production.

The mixing board listed in this project will give us the ability to properly regulate the sound of all of our wonderful student performers. It will also allow us to control volume and feedback levels in a way that will help us protect our new speakers and keep them in excellent condition for many years to come.
