This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
When I started my journey as a teacher before the pandemic, I was provided with a basic laptop to use. It is now four years old and as with technology, no longer runs with the speed and precision I need. Everything I do is completed online and many times, I am waiting for the system to catch up, wasting previous moments of time. Tasks that should take minutes take much longer than they used to.
Creating Power Points for my students that reflect the curriculum is a main part of my daily job.
I often work overtime on weekends to ensure that my PowerPoint lessons best reflect what standards my students will be working on each day the following week. I am often waiting on my system to catch up so that I can finish these tasks in a reasonable amount of time. I also find myself multi-tasking as I create the lessons so that my students receive the best assortment of instruction that is tailored to their individual learning styles.
