Photography is an incredible art course offered at a Title I school in Phoenix.
This course is an art course focusing on how to use a DSLR camera, the history and influence of Photography, and how to use professional photo editing software.
This course better prepares students for life by providing them with a creative area where they are free to explore their identity, skills, and individual style through a project based setting. These students are unique, kind, and respectful individuals who demonstrate perseverance on a regular basis and would benefit greatly from additional equipment.
Visual arts teaches students life skills such as giving/receiving feedback, problem-solving, thinking outside of the box, and showing determination to see a project till the end.
My Project
The photography equipment I've selected will better prepare students in becoming professional photographers. If we receive these supplies, such as the Nikon D3500, students will be able to use it to practice the different functions of the camera. I'm also asking for Tripp Lite and Apple memory card readers, tripod, and SanDisk memory card.
Teaching professional photography will not only open up career opportunities for these students, but teach them to think creatively, problem solve, and critically think.
Photography has been important throughout history because it captures history, people, places, events, and aesthetics. DSLR Cameras are important for capturing better quality photos and by teaching students skills such as how to use aperture priority, shutter priority, or manual mode, we can keep this important art form alive and better prepare our students for the many careers in this field.
