My Project

Our classroom uses tables rather than student desks. This set up fosters an environment of collaboration and communication. It has also helped students prepare for middle school next year. The only drawback to using tables is that is challenging to separate students when they are distracted and need to focus on getting their work done.

These privacy panels will be placed on the tables so that students can create blinders to the common distractions for students.

One visual that I use with my students is that race horses have blinders on the side of their eyes to help them stay focused on what is in front of them and not on the horses to their left or right. These panels will be their blinders and help them to focus on what is in front of the and not what is happening around them.

More than before, my students need help learning how to stay focused, ignore distractions and to work diligently on one task until it is complete. I believe this will be a very helpful tool for this year and years to come.
