Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a special education teacher in a Title I school in Jackson Heights, Queens. I teach Algebra I to 8th grade students, both general education and special education, with the hope that they can earn a Regents credit at the end of their 8th grade year. This is an accelerated course, which requires me to create individualized materials for my students to succeed. Students benefit immensely from individualized assessments, graphic organizers, guided notes, and study guides that I create myself in order to support the provided curriculum and help my students reach their goals.

Due to budget constraints, access to copy machines in our school is limited.

Having ink and paper for our classroom printer would provide my students with the resources they need to succeed! Thank you so much in advance for your support!
