My Students

Every week in the art room at PS 295, students get messy in a good way! They paint, draw, collage, and sculpt. All activities are about experimentation, play, and finding experiences and ideas that they never had before.

My students range from Pre-K to fifth grade.

They are all artists! When they enter PS 295, my students get to dive into many art forms. They dance. They act. They write. And in my room, they create visual art. Our school supports the Arts and understands its importance. Having been nurtured in the arts, my students become confident, analytical, and mindful students. They are able to see the world and appreciate each other in a beautiful way.

My Project

My students will engage in printmaking activities with the purchased supplies. With the acetate sheets, they will be able to create independently designed monoprints. The baby wipes will allow my students to clean up quickly and create more art work. The acetate sheets are reusable, so my future classes will benefit from this donation as well.

This donation will motivate my students to create art at the moment.

They will not be hindered by self-doubt and dive into the experience of monoprinting with enthusiasm. Monoprints allow for an immediacy that will excite my students to create more. I want my students to feel comfortable taking risks and being spontaneous in my class.
