My Students

"Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep." -Anonymous This quote defines the readers and writers of the writing process in my classroom. Students are able to pick and choose which pieces they like, and which to get rid of based on their sense of writing. Their writing then relates to project based-learning where they are asked to create mobiles, dioramas and 3-d images of their stories.

The twenty-five students in my class all have come from diverse backgrounds and cultures, providing them each with their unique personality and their own writing styles.

They are always lively and ready to learn and engage in lessons. When you walk into the class, you are greeted with smiles, chatter and happiness. They enjoy learning through their writing, and being able to share their creativity through their writing and art work.

My Project

My students need a printer and ink in order to print their final products of writing, as well as be able to make mistakes within their writing and be able to start over. Due to lack of funding, the school is unable to provide this aspect to my students. The students enjoy having their final projects printed and posted throughout the building and classroom, along with their art projects based on stories they have read. This piece of technology also closes the gap between school and home, allowing students to bring their final creations home to show what they have done. My students will use the printer to be able to express their creativity through their writing and being able to print.

The inks and printer will make a difference in my classroom by helping to give students different learning opportunities and allowing them to express themselves through art and writing.

Every student learns in a different way, some by seeing, some by listening and some by doing. These items will help to reach the different learners in my class.
