Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from low-income, single-parent households. Some of my students are identified as students with disabilities. They require accommodations to be successful within the general education curriculum. Although they are faced with many challenges, I observe their resilience and eagerness to learn daily.

My Project

I am a teacher who supports and facilitates for exceptional students in third to fifth grade. In addition, I recently was given an 8th grade intensive math class to begin teaching. In the school I currently work at, printers are not easily accessible. In the new classroom, there isn't a printer. In the office where I conduct and arrange meetings on yearly basis to improve students' individual education plan and content based on understanding students’ behavior, psyche, and progress; the printer is outdated. I also work along the community to improve student learning and conduct monthly meeting with students, parents, and community members.

The printer would be used to printing out Foldables for students' journals, copying student projects; scanning Educational Plans, Individual Educational Plans and 504 Accommodations documents, and printing out Educational Excellence School Advisory Council Advisory flyers.

Students will be using foldables at the end of each standard taught, as a group assignments to check for student understand while also having a kinesthetic learning type lesson. Also, all Ep's, IEP's, and 504's will be printed, scanned, and copied before and after meetings for parents and students. Lastly, the EESAC has monthly meetings where students, parents, community members, and school personnel meet to discuss how to improve the school and student learning. The printer will be used to print out flyers for important meeting dates and school information.
