Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students attend a specialized school for children with severe disabilities. However we like to focus on OUR abilities instead of their disabilities. It is important for them to have access to their materials in order to help their learning process. Every day my students show up ready to learn. The gift of these items will help them and myself improve the learning environment.

The use of the Epson Eco-tank printer will allow me to print out the materials that are needed to help them learn.

It is important that these materials be in color in order for my students to understand the concepts. The printer allows me to print out materials in the classroom so my students can use these hands-on activity to learn daily living skills. We will be able to match colorful pictures of food products so they can role-play how to make purchases in their community.

The use of the office chair allows me to sit and engage with my students in either small groups or 1 on 1 to give them more individualized attention. We are currently without any additional chairs in the school. This chair will be beneficial to my students and myself due to the fact that it can be easily moved from station to station to allow me to observe and help my students during their learning.

The shelves will be used to display the materials that will be created using the Epson printer. The shelves gives the students access to the materials so they can independently find what they need and have it readily accessible. By having the materials within reach students learn how to start and carry out tasks independently.

I'm sure with your gift, my students will achieve all of their individualized goals for this school year.
