Printer Help

My students need a printer to print up the projects and have a way to print up their research for their future projects and essays. They also need ink and paper to use for the year.

My Students

The one thing I loved about history was when a teacher made the subject come alive. I always wanted to be that type of teacher. I wanted my students to not only think outside the box but to love what they learn and do. I always wanted to be that teacher the students remembered for years to come.

My students are your typical middle school students.

They are inquisitive and curious about many things. In our Junior high, we help students learn together instead of the teacher just teaching. My sixth, seventh and eighth graders blossom into great learners during their time in my class. They work together in small groups to accomplish many types of projects, essays, reports both on the computer and off. We are striving to not only help our students to become better writers and students, but trying to get them college ready and life ready. Our students may use some technology in our school but not all of them have the same resources at home and in their neighborhood to help assist them. Our school always strives to get the best out of our students and ourselves. Our students constantly push us for more and better ways we can help them learn.

My Project

My students have always done a lot of different types of projects on our computers, whether power points, created their own magazines or essays and reports but the past few years, I have had no way of printing their wonderful work. With a printer, my students will be able to research, print their research to help assist them at home with whatever task they are accomplishing. If I had a printer, paper and extra ink, my students would all be able to print their reports and essays. I would be able to do some of my more exciting projects, such as my trip around the world unit for my sixth grade and my American Revolution and Civil War magazine in groups for my seventh grade. To have the ability to print their work, readings, pictures and images would not only help our class out but would help them become better students. My goal for all my students is for them to understand how to research and write a full research term paper by the end of the year, increasing the difficulty every year.

If you donate to our project, my student's education and time in my class will improve for the better.

They will be able to start a project, research, print and finally publish the piece. Seeing their work published in the magazine we write in our class gives them confidence. I have seen students who hate writing and social studies suddenly love what they are doing and have a new appreciation for writing and learning.
